Sector International, in partnership with international schools and colleges in Calgary, provides paid and unpaid internships and work placement for international students. Internships are part of two ongoing programs whereby international students study upper intermediate to advanced ESL for a 12 or 24 week semester, and work for a semester in a paid work placement or unpaid internship for 12 or 24 weeks.
Work Experience Program (paid)
The work experience program is intended to provide international students with a paid work placement that will allow students to develop their communication skills while experience the Canadian workplace culture. Typically, placements are made in the customer service sector.
If your company is in need of employees, qualified candidates with all the necessary legal documents are standing by for interviews.
International Internship Program (unpaid)
By hosting international interns, your company will not only gain a qualified worker at no-cost, but enhance you company's cultural diversity and broaden the global perspective of current staff. A short term intern placement allows departments to initiate projects not normally covered by the basic budget. They also allow the more experienced staff members to concentrate on the higher priority tasks, while the more basic operations are handled by interns. If you are entering a peak season, and could use another hand in the office, an international intern placement is an excellent way to increase productivity while controlling operational costs. There is always an option to rotate in new interns at the end of the term.
International interns hold all necessary legal documents from Immigration Canada to work in Canada and meet an upper intermediate standard of English language proficiency, suitable for the linguistic demands of the typical workplace.
